INTRODUCTION – ZIYARAT IN MAKKAH & MADINAH

There are many places for Ziyarat In Makkah & Madinah. Ziyarat in Makkah & Madinah are religious places that are extremely important to visit. This is the mosque which also known as a Meeqat for pilgrims who wishes to perform an umrah, he/she should wear the Ihram from this mosque and pray two rakats of making a niyat of umrah in the masjid and pray the talbiyah minimum of three times (لَبَّيْكَ ٱللَّٰهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ ٱلْحَمْدَ وَٱلنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَٱلْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ ) and then one should go to the Masjid Al Haram and perform umrah.

3. Jabal-e-Noor

This mountain is situated in Makkah in the Hejazi region. Jabal-e-Noor is of utmost importance in the history of Islam. There is a cave which is known as  Gare Hira (Cave of Hira) here. There are many Hadees attached to this holy Ziyarat Place. Almost every pilgrim ( haji ) visits this place of Ziyarat during his/her stay in the holy city of Makkah during Hajj or Umrah. It is one of the must visiting places of Ziyarat of Makkah. Pilgrims make dua to Allah here, as the first Ayat of The Holy Quran was revealed to our Prophet Mohammed ( Sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) on this mountain.

4. Arafat Mountain

Mount Arafat is also known as the “Mountain Of Mercy”. It is situated in Hejaz section of Saudi Arabia, Near about a million pilgrims visit this mountain during their journey of Hajj every year. In the season of Umrah travel agents and tour operators take the pilgrims here to do ziyarat and make dua to Allah. During Hajj season pilgrims go from Mina to Arafat and spend almost a day over there near and around the mountain and pray namaz and make dua to Allah and do the necessary things which are involved in completing the journey of supplication.

5. Jannatul Ma’lla

Jannatul Ma’alla is the cemetery (graveyard) where most of the companions and The Prophet Mohammed’s( Sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) wife, grandfather and other ancestors are resting in peace. It is situated in the north of Masjid Al Haram Makkah near the Mosque of Jinn ( Masjid -e- Jinn ). Pilgrims do ziyarat from outside the graveyard and make dua to Allah . Any human being who is buried over here is believed that he/she will not have any questioning in the grave and will directly enter paradise.

6. Mosque Of Jinn

Mosque of Jinn also known as Masjid -e- Jinn, it is situated in The Holy city of Makkah. Pilgrims whoever goes for the pilgrimage journey of Hajj or Umrah goes for Ziyarat over here. It is quite near the Haram Shareef Makkah. The mosque is at that place where a group of jinns gathered one night to hear the recitation of The Holy Quran which was recited by The Prophet Mohammed ( Sallallahu alaihi wasallam ). This mosque is considered to be one of the oldest mosques in Makkah and it is one of the most important mosques visit in this Holy city.

7. Mina

Mina is also known as the “Tent City”, it is a neighbourhood in The Holy City Of Makkah. It is approximately 5-8 kilometers away from the Masjid Al Haram (The Holy Mosque). It is a place where during the season of Hajj all the pilgrims who came or the journey of Hajj stays in tents built here. Different roads have different numbers and different tent numbers for different tents it is a very huge city of tents mainly build for the purpose of Hajj. During the Hajj it is compulsory for a pilgrim to stay in the tents of Mina and pray and make dua to Allah.

MADINAH PLACES

 

1. Masjid Al Nabawi Madina

Masjid Al Nabawi is also known as the “The Prophet’s Mosque” (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) . It is one of the most important mosques is the history of Islam. This is the mosque which was built by The Prophet Mohammed (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) himself. Pilgrims who come to perform Hajj or Umrah definitely pay a visit (Salaam) to The Prophet’s (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam’s) Roza Mubarak. The Masjid Al Nabawi is the second most visited mosque after Masjid Al Haram Makkah. According to the Islamic scholars coming to Masjid Al Nabawi after Hajj or Umrah is also a very important ritual involved in these journeys of purification. 2. Jannat Al Baqi

Jannat Al Baqi is the oldest and first cemetery of Madina. It is believed that any human being he/she who is buried over here will definitely enter paradise and will be saved from the questioning of the grave. There are many relatives and friends of Our Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) resting in peace over here. Pilgrims whoever comes to Madina always go to Jannat Ul Baqi for ziyarat and to make dua . Jannat Ul Baqi is situated in the southeast from The Prophet’s Mosque ( Masjid Al Haram ). There is a certain timing of opening Jannat Al Baqi like for example after Asar Namaz on Friday. There are many other timings of opening as well.

3. Masjid -e- Quba

Masjid -e- Quba is situated on the outskirts of Madina , the mosque is around 6-10 kilometers away from the Masjid Al Haram Madina . It is also an old mosque and very much visited mosque by pilgrims in Madina . The reason behind many pilgrims visiting this mosque is that there is a Hadees behind it which is “ If any Muslim performs wudu and prays two rakats Nafil Namaz here is EQUAL TO A COMPLETE UMRAH. Some pilgrims even visit Masjid -e- Quba every day during their stay in Madina to get the sawab of a complete umrah every day.

4.Hazrat Amir Hamza ( Sayyid As Shuhada )

Pilgrims who come to Madina definitely visit Hazrat amir Hamza’s and his companions resting place, which is situated near the Mount Uhud . There is also a mosque built near by for the pilgrims to do ablution and pray namaz . Hazrat Amir Hamza was uncle of The Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) . This place of Ziyarat is also nown as Sayyed Ash Shuhada in the local Arabic language.

5. Masjid -e- Qiblatain

Masjid -e- Qiblatain is a very beautiful mosque and it is an important place of ziyarat when you go there. This mosque has a lot of historic importance in Islam, As Our Prophet Mohammed (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has got the command to change the direction of Qibla (Direction of Prayer) from Jerusalem to Makkah .

6. Site Of Battle Of Badr

Battle of Badr is the place where the first war of Islam was fought. The site of Badr is about 150 – 170 kilometers (approx)away from the city of Madina. Pilgrims usually take a bus for groups or a car to go there for ziyarat. There should be a guide with the group to explain the importance of this ziyarat to the pilgrims. The battle was fought by our Prophet Mohammed (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and his companions. This war has great importance in the Islamic history as the war was fought for the protection of true religion Islam.
